Sing along with Sally with these videos-did you know singing helps children learn to read?

Boost your child’s reading progress by developing phonological awareness through singing.

Before children can read, they need to be able to hear and manipulate the small sounds in words. This is known as “phonological awareness.” Think of it as playing with words. Using rhythm, rhyme, and repetition, songs naturally encourage development of phonological awareness. Notes in songs naturally break words into parts, or syllables. Traditional nursery rhymes are packed with the qualities that encourage phonological awareness, and offer silliness and fun vocabulary as well.

Sally invites you to join in on her 36 Singing Games and Activities in the form of 36 separate videos that you can stream straight into your home or classroom, accompanied with supporting documents. These singing activities are great starter songs for the day, brain break songs or can be a springboard for a music lesson. As Sally weaves her magic through singing and movement activities, students will be looking forward to the next video. Sit back and enjoy the fun of observing your students singing-a-long with Sally. And witness the many cross curricula opportunities for learning.
